To apply for the Ideal Card phone number
you must be at least 20 years or older and
must present the original copy of your ID
card (or passport, residence certificate)
and a secondary ID document when visiting
the ChungHwa Telecom business center in
person.
The secondary identification documents include:
IC Health Insurance card, passport, residence
certificate, student ID, driver’s license,
military ID, or household registration certificate,
etc.)

to suspend the service, and present the
original copy of your nation ID card to
the ChungHwa Telecom business center to
obtain a replacement card, for which there
is a NT$300 charge. The credit balance,
if still valid, will be carried over fully.
ChungHwa Telecom, however, is not responsible
for any charges incurred during the lost
period.
The Ideal Card is locked (What if I’m locked
out of my Ideal Card?
If the incorrect PIN is entered 3 times
consecutively, the card will be locked out
of service. Consult and retrieve the PUK
number on the back cover of the user’s manual
to unlock the card. The card will be permanently
rendered useless if the procedure is not
carried out properly for 10 consecutive
times. In which case, you must visit the
business center for a replacement card.
There is a change of NT$300.
Damaged card
If the card is found defective in the first
2 weeks after its purchase, ChungHwa Telecom
will replace it with no cost to the customer.
If the damage is caused by the customer
due to improper use, ChungHwa Telecom will
not refund the balance value, if any, of
the card for any reason. Customers, however,
can request a replacement card with the
balance fully carried over.

How are Ideal Stored Value card’s various
expiration dates determined?
1. Card activation: A newly
purchased card must be activated within
the time period specified in the card package.
Fail to do so will render the card nonfunctional.
2. Card usage:
the Ideal Card is valid for 180 days from
the first call. As long as additional credit
deposits are made to the card (credit balance
automatically accumulates when multiple
concurrent deposits are made. The new card
expiration date is calculated to be 180
days from the last deposit transaction.)

What happens to the built-in phone number
if the Ideal Card has past its expiration
date?
We’re sorry. The phone number will no longer
be in service in this case. For other related
questions please contact the toll-free 24hr
hotline for assistance.
Does the Ideal Card support international
roaming?
No. For international calls the Ideal
Card supports outbound calling from Taiwan
only. Roaming is not supported.
Credit balance does not expire. As long
as the phone number is valid, the balance
is always available for use. What does
expire, however, is the Ideal Card phone
number, which is
only valid for 180 days
from the last credit deposit date.
For example:
On June 6th, 2006 Mr. Lin’s credit balance
was 0, so he immediately deposited NT$500,
As a result, Mr. Lin’s credit balance
now becomes NT$500, and the expiration
date for the Ideal Card phone number is
extended to 180 more days to December
3rd, 2006.
On October 3rd, 2006, Mr. Lin’s credit
balance was NT$100, so he deposited another
NT$2,000, which brought the balance to
NT$2,100, and also extended the phone
number expiration date to April 1st, 2007
(i.e. 180 days from October 3rd, 2008.)
